Hello. My name is Samantha Sinai and I am currently an Undergraduate Student at Baldwin-Wallace College where I am studying Music Therapy and Cello Performance. When I graduate in May of 2012, I plan to begin a Music Therapy Internship. I have always felt a special connection to music. It allows me to express emotions that are rooted deep within me and emotions that I believe are rooted deep within the consciousness of the world. There is a lot of conflict in this world. I believe that music, being a tool for expression, has the potential to be a very powerful healing mechanism. I have been doing research in the field of music and conflict transformation/ conflict resolution and I find it extremely inspiring. I'm particularly interested in Buddhist ideas of transforming conflict (Ive been reading the books of Thich Nhat Hanh) and how music could be incorporated into those ideas. I am excited to continue learning on my journey. My special interests include: Wellness, Meditation, Mindfulness, Nature, Inclusion, Love and Music.
